Building Leadership And Community Knowledge (BLACK) is for African Descendants of Slaves (ADOS) who share the common goal of improving the quality of life among Blacks. We provide programming that educates BLACK Americans and strengthens the BLACK community to take an active role in their own liberation. We work to liberate Black Americans from oppressive systems.
Once parent leaders are trained, they will form teams to design and implement service projects which will contribute to building protective factors in their community. Service projects will be designed with an eye toward making a positive contribution to the community well beyond the program period
In the pursuit of jus:ce, unity is our strength. “Together We Rise” is a comprehensive strategic plan designed to address systemic issues and foster posi:ve change within our communi:es. This blueprint encompasses five key pillars: educa:on, economic empowerment, health equity, housing for all ages, and voter engagement. By synergizing these efforts, we aim to create a more inclusive and equitable society where everyone can thrive.
The main role of a Youth Council as set out in our strategic plan is "to promote the interests of the community and the involvement of youth in the affairs of the community, in co-operation with the organization, parents, educators and public officials".
