Scholastic Endowment Quest
BLACK’s Scholastic Endowment Quest program identifies and assists individuals from disadvantaged backgrounds who have the potential to succeed in higher education. The program provides academic, career, and financial counseling to its participants and encourages them to graduate from high school and continue on to and complete their postsecondary education.
The program publicizes the availability of financial aid and assists participants with the postsecondary application process. Endowment Quest also encourages persons who have not completed education programs at the secondary or postsecondary level to enter or reenter and complete postsecondary education.
The goal of the Scholastic Endowment Quest Program is to increase the number of youth from disadvantaged backgrounds who complete high school and enroll in and complete their postsecondary education. Our program will provide services to 250 disadvantaged, low-income, potentially first-generation college-bound students attending schools in the service area. The target schools are High Schools and all of the area Junior High Schools. (In our service area)

BLACK identifies and assists individuals from disadvantaged backgrounds who have the potential to succeed in higher education and entrepreneurship. The program provides academic, career, and financial counseling to its participants and encourages them to enroll in postsecondary education immediately after high school if not sooner.
The goal of our program is to increase the number of youth in the community who complete high school and enroll in a postsecondary educational program immediately after graduation. We also want to expose younger students to college campuses and careers in the STEM field as early as 6th grade to encourage them to take more challenging courses as they continue to progress through the educational system.

Merriam-Webster dictionary defines mentor as a trusted counselor or guide. A mentor is usually a more experienced individual, who helps guide the development of another. The mentor’s role is to guide, advise, and support the mentee as they improve their abilities and skills through observation, assessment, and modeling. At BLACK, our students are able to experiment with creative solutions to problems within a safe and supportive environment.
